A message from our President & CEO following the 2022 Prosperity Summit 

What a pleasure it was to host champions of racial and economic equity, to put names to faces, and reunite our movement. To those of you who joined us last week, whether in person or virtually, thank you. We’ve returned from Atlanta energized by the passion and commitment of so many people, like you, who share our vision of an economy that works for everyone.     

We have big goals — and I firmly believe that together we can achieve them. From our electrifying drumline kickoff by Shockwave Percussion to a moving closing performance from the award-winning vocal group, SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK®, the Summit brought us together in celebration of our shared fight for racial economic justice.  

I want to share just a few of my favorite moments:  

1) Our six rockstar-studded mainstage plenaries highlighting important conversations about Baby Bonds, advancing racial wealth equity through data, and centering children and families on the path to justice. We were honored to host amazing speakers including Derrick Hamilton, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, Common, and Mayor Melvin Carter.   

2) Seeing our movement in action, leading workshops and sharing learnings that more tangibly get us closer to our vision of transforming our economy until it works for everyone.  

3) Publicly announcing the 1 Million BIPOC Entrepreneur Initiative alongside Avanade and unveiling the game-changing Black Wealth Data Center.

I am convinced that, together, we can make America the inclusive and just country we believe it can be. I’m so grateful that you’re in this with us.
