Arbeit, a Buffalo based leading provider of contact software solutions for the debt collection industry, is thrilled to name Adam Freeland as its first Compliance Manager.
“As we build our next generation omnichannel tool, making compliance easy for our clients is a top priority. We are so excited to have Adam joining our team to lead these efforts.” said Kaitlyn Filippi, Product Manager at Arbeit.
Adam worked as a patent agent after obtaining his B.S. in Biology from LSU. After passing the Patent Bar, he attended law school in Houston and went on to become Editor in Chief of CURRENTS: Journal of International Economic Law. It was there he helped to coordinate the 2019 Symposium on Compliance in International Corporate Practices and published the corresponding Volume 24 issue incorporating topics on trade with China, cross-border trade compliance, anti-bribery and corruption compliance, corporate investigations, GDPR and CCPA compliance, data privacy and protection and more. Adam then went on to work at a litigation law firm in Nacogdoches, Texas, defending Texas creditors against allegations of TCPA and Texas Finance Code violations, as well as handling intellectual property matters, medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, and commercial contract disputes.
“Compliance is like a vitamin regimen, you don’t need to take any of it, but when flu season hits, you won’t thrive without it. Like Vitamin C, integrity hits differently. No company with essential core values can sustain a business without it–without integrity,” said Adam Freeland. “I am excited to be a part of a company that is seeking to ingrain integrity into the core systems of its next generation of products.”
The debt collection industry is heavily regulated, and compliance is top of mind for Arbeit and its clients. Adam’s position cements compliance as a priority.
“With Adam joining the team, not only do I (or Kaitlyn) not have to try and read another 653 page CFPB regulation, but our current and future clients can have more confidence that the software they are using will solve their compliance issues of today and tomorrow,” said Alex Villafranca, Arbeit co-founder and CEO. “Adam will be working with the product team to ensure our current and future products provide agencies with the tools they need to be compliant.”
