United Explorer Boosts Sign-Up Bonus, While United Club Infinite Adds One

The United℠ Explorer Card and United Club℠ Infinite Card, issued by Chase, are tweaking their incentives for new cardholders.
But both offers come at a cost, either in the form of a higher minimum spending requirement or an annual fee that now kicks in immediately. Here's what's changing:
United℠ Explorer Card
This card is offering the following bonus: Earn 60,000 bonus miles after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.
Previously, the offer was for 40,000 miles after spending $2,000 in the first three months.
The higher bonus could get you two domestic round-trip tickets, depending on where and when you travel.
United Club℠ Infinite Card
The changes to the United Club℠ Infinite Card are twofold. The $525 annual fee will no longer be waived for the first year, and the card will begin to offer a generous sign-up bonus: Earn 80,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening..
Previously, the card offered no bonus.
Since United MileagePlus miles don’t expire, this offer provides a window of time to build up a substantial stash of miles for eventual future travel.
What’s not changing
Both cards will continue to earn additional miles on United and other travel and restaurant purchases, along with TSA Precheck or Global Entry credits, free checked bags and discounts on in-flight purchases. The United Club℠ Infinite Card also offers United Club membership, which is valued at up to $650 per year.
