DEBT RELIEF POWER OF ATTORNEY DOC AT CENTER OF FDCPA SUIT
- A collector is being sued because it allegedly refused to discuss the particulars of a debt with the plaintiff, due to the fact the plaintiff had previously executed a power of attorney with the debt relief firm at which she was working.

FCC ENFORCEMENT ACTION TO BLOCK CALLS FROM SEVEN CARRIERS
- The Federal Communications Commission is giving seven carriers 14 days to prove why the traffic on their networks should not be blocked, after they failed to implement measures aimed at eliminating robocalls.

HUNSTEIN RULING PUSHING MORE CASES BACK TO STATE COURT
- In a ruling that is playing out in courts across the country, a District Court judge in North Carolina has ruled that a plaintiff in a Hunstein suit does not have standing to sue in federal court and remanded the case back to state court where it was originally filed.
- The plaintiff took the step of not claiming that anyone at the vendor that printed and mailed the letter saw or read his private information.

NY DFS BRINGS BACK CONSUMER PROTECTION COUNCIL
- At a time when the state is considering its own version of Regulation F, the New York Department of Financial Services has announced the relaunching of an expanded Consumer Protection Advisory Council.
- The Council has been expanded to 25 members, the vast majority of them from consumer advocacy organizations.
