Barring some big new next week, yesterday I hosted what will likely be the last webinar of 2021. Yesterday’s webinar was the 264th live event I hosted this year — counting webinars, episodes of The Talk-Off, and webinars hosted for state collectors’ associations. Counting Mondays through Fridays, and excluding federal holidays there are 250 business days in 2021. That means that, on average, there was at least one AccountsRecovery.net event every business day of the year.
If you know anything about me, you know that I have a very difficult time being the center of attention. So I want to make it clear from the start that this article is not about me or the number of live events that I held. It’s about you. Whether you watched, listened, asked a question, shared a comment, participated as a panelist, or sponsored a webinar, this article is my way of thanking you for allowing me to host 264 live events this year. Without you, webinars would just be me talking to myself. That fact is not lost on me. I don’t take that for granted and it’s important for me to tell you just how much it means to me that you choose to spend an hour — or more — with me just about every day of the year.
I am so grateful to the more than 40,000 people who watched or listened to a webinar this year. I am so grateful for the 1,035 times I asked someone to be a panelist and he or she said yes. I am so grateful to the 33 different companies who sponsored a webinar with me this year. I started doing webinars a few years ago because I thought it might help attract more people to the site and they did, and then I raised the bar to trying to host at least one webinar every day when the pandemic hit two years ago, and you have been there for every step of that journey.
As someone who writes and speaks publicly for a living, not being able to find the right words is never something that should occur, but I find myself struggling to convey the breadth and depth of the gratitude that I feel for those who choose to support myself and AccountsRecovery.net.
I was asked the other day to try and put together a highlight reel from the year and I have some ideas that I will hopefully be able to share next week and into 2022 — and while there won’t be any webinars next week, I am still planning on sending out The Daily Digest every day — but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point. Accomplishments are rarely made alone and I am no exception to that. This industry has given me so much and I am forever thankful for this opportunity.
I hope you and your family have a safe and wonderful holiday season!
