As I sit writing this blog, I am finding it hard to believe six years have passed since coming to American Profit Recovery. I still remember getting the call to come in for an interview and didn’t completely know what to expect or how I would be treated. Everyone associates “collection specialists, or debt collectors” as bad, mean people blowing up your phone.  But that’s just not true.

Walking into the office I was pleasantly surprised by the smiling faces and overall atmosphere.

I decided to take a chance and take on a new industry that I had never been in before. It has taken a lot of discipline and hard work, to get to the level that I am at now. I now have the privilege of working side by side with new hires as they come in and helping assist managers build their teams. While hiring in itself can be a daunting task, the reward is so great once you find the perfect addition to the team.Angela Holthus

Watching the excitement in a collector’s eyes when they overcome an obstacle or challenging situation because of something you said, or how you taught them, is always the reward.

Here we don’t believe that just because you’re in management or a tenured employee that we stop learning, we are always learning from each other and finding new ways to improve and setting records and goals.

This year I set a goal to beat one of our owner’s Net collections and am now known as “Queenie” on my team because I beat him (sorry Barry…) Collecting a record in one month isn’t just about the bragging rights, it is about knowing how much my efforts meant to my company as well as our clients. And, I helped consumers get out of a tough situation.

Together we are a small piece of a puzzle helping the economy rise up after this difficult pandemic.
